MoU and Seminar to commemorate the 51th Dies Natalis of Faculty of Animal Science, Unsoed
[unsoed.ac.id, Kam, 16/03/17], Bringing up “Potensi dan Strategi Pemberdayaan Unggas Lokal yang Progresif dalam Penyediaan Produk Hewan Asuh (Aman,Sehat, Utuh, Halal) di Jawa Tengah” (Potency and Strategies of Progressive Local Poultry Empowerment in Providing ASUH (Safe, Healthy, Complete, Halal) Animal Products in Central Java) as its theme, Faculty of Animal Science Unsoed held National Seminar on Wednesday (14/3). This event is a series of several activities to commemorate the 51th Dies Natalis of Faculty of Animal Science, Unsoed by inviting Afan Malay, S.H (An expert staff of legal affairs of Agricultural Ministry), Drs. Ade Meirizal Zulkarnaen (Chief of Himpuli/Secretariate General of National Livestock Board), Naryanto (Director of PT. Sumber Unggas Indonesia) and Prof. Dr. Ismoyowati, S.PT.,MP (Lecturer of Animal Science Faculty Unsoed).
Besides, signing of MoU between the faculty and Provincial Livestock and Health Agency was conducted in Seminar 1 Room of the faculty. This signing was testified by the Dean of Faculty along with the vice, The Chief of Central Java Livestock and Health Agency and staffs, and lecturers and students.
The Dean of Faculty of Animal Science, Prof.Dr.Ir. Akhmad Sodiq , M.Sc.agr in his speech stated that this seminar and the signing is expected to enhance academic quality through education, research, and community service. Moreover, it is also a means of increasing potency and strategy in empowering progressive animal product.
The chief of Livestockand Health of Central Java, Ir. Agus Wariyanto SIP, MM stated that increasing progressive local poultry would increase farmer’s welfare. “It is conducted by technical approach on livestock health, political aspect in feeding them, economical aspect on efficiency and legal aspect on the relevant regulation management”, he said.
In his explanation, the speaker described the local poultry potentials in MEA trade along with dairy products through qualified poultry breeding. Moreover, the local resources use as natural feed additive and good farming practice becomes a key to produce standardized poultry products.
