A Visit from University of Malaysia Sabah to FISIP
[unsoed.ac.id, Fri, 26/01/18] Unsoed’s Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FISIP) welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Heritage (FKSW) of University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on Wednesday [24/01]. The Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Heritage, Dr. Afrizal Anwar, who was in charge of the delegation, came with Prof. Dr. Ismail bin Ibrahim and their ten students. The visit is a follow-up to the LoI (Letter of Intent) signing between FISIP Unsoed and FKSW UMS. The welcoming session was held in FISIP Hall and attended by FISIP Dean and Vice Deans, Head of Departments, Study Program Coordinators, Director of Unsoed’s International Relation Office (IRO), Ir. Suprayogi, Ph.D., and a number of students.
Drs. BambangWidodo, M.Par. (Chairperson of the Welcoming Committee) reported that the delegation of FKSW UMS would spend 2 days (24-25 January 2018) in Purwokerto. The agenda included hospitality, general lecture, a visit to SMK Seni Banyumas (Art Vocational High School), discussion on Banyumas culture, dan students gathering.
The Dean of FISIP, Dr. Jarot Santoso, M.S., expressed that they initiated the collaboration in August 2017 and he expected that there would be more collaborative activities on Tri Dharma, students exchange program, joint seminar, or scientific publication. “One academic activity we did was when we gave a general lecture in FKSW and at the time FISIP Unsoed was invited as the speaker,” the Dean said.
The Dean of FKSW UMS, Dr. Afrizal Anwar, was pleased to respond to FISIP Dean’s expectation; and he planned to form ASEAN students community that will focus on researches and publications, and if possible there will be student exchange program on scholarship for graduate students.
Then, the students from both faculties performed cultural show and the occasion was closed by a general lecture that presented Dr. Toto Sugito, M.Si. who delivered a material on Ethnographical Heritage in Indonesian Archipelago.
