[unsoed.ac.id, Rab, 15/03/17), Held in Seminar Room of International Relation Department, Monday (13/3), the Department International Relation FISIP Unsoed held a general lecturer entitled “Toward Digital Economy”. The invited speaker is Budiman Sudjatmiko M.Sc, M.Phil., a member of Indonesia Legislative, Commission II 2014- 2019. This event was also attended by Vice Dean, Lecturers and students.
In his speech, The Dean Ali Rokhman stated that he highly appreciated it since economic matters is apt to trigger conflict especially in this digital era. Through its interesting theme, he expected there was a knowledge transfer between practical and academic field.
In his explanation, Budiman Sudjatmiko M.Sc, M.Phil explained he did not apply classical theories which put state as a leading actor since the state cannot be put in international relation, rather, global position only. Technological revolution has encouraged political and economic revolution. In colonial era, it applied a master-slave economic system. Meanwhile, in this current economy, there is a dependency in which a state is independent politically but not economically.
Global trends including economic sharing or economic and production collaboration has built a system framework in digital era which becomes participatory market society. By network-basedcharacteristics, decentralization, diversity and public participation. Consequently, village leads to global economy through creativity, innovation and collaboration-based digital economy. Villages can build their own production to enter global economy. The technology access equality to village and inter village collaboration will alleviate poverty for village welfare.
