Faculty of Economics

Faculty of Economics, University of Jenderal Sudirman (FE UNSOED) was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science (PTIP) No. 127 of 1963 dated October 9, 1963 as a part of Gadjah Mada University.

In 1974, the Faculty of Economics produced 24 scholars as its first graduates. In 1975, it was separated from Gadjah Mada University and started employing lecturers from Jenderal Sudirman University. Then, the Faculty of Economics opened Diploma Three Program (D3) which was named the Education Program for Corporate Administration (PAAP). PAAP was founded based on the decree of Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture No. 052/DJ/Kept./1982 November 17, 1983. It had two study programs, i.e. Finance and Administrative, and Secretariat. The teaching staff were from the Faculty of Economics and a few practitioners in Purwokerto.

In 1994, the Faculty of Economics opened S1 non regular programs (extension) in Management based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Department of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia No. 102/DIKTI/Kep/1994 dated 19 April 1994. In the academic year of 1997/1998 Faculty of Economics opened one new study program, namely D3 Accounting based on the decree of Director General of Higher Education No. 101/DIKTI/Kep/1998. Later on, S1 Accounting and S1 Economic Development, both non-regular, were established respectively in 1998 and 2000.

To anticipate the growing job market demand which leads to the global economy, since 2001 Faculty of Economics opened D3 International Business study program with the decree of Director General of National Education No. 1851/D/T/2001.

In the academic year of 2006/2007, with the decree of Unsoed Rector No. 205/J23/KP/2006, Faculty of Economics started International classes. The International classes held four Strata 1 regular study programs i.e. Management, Accounting, and Economics and Development Studies.
