[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 06/23/2025] Kicking off the Central Java Provincial Student Sports Week (Pomprov Jawa Tengah 2025), with Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed Purwokerto) is hosting six sports, athletics, and taekwondo, which were held at different venues on Monday (June 23, 2025).
The athletics was held at the Susilo Soedirman Sports Hall in Karangwangkal, Purwokerto. In contrast, the taekwondo event was held at the Graha Prof Rubijanto Misman Auditorium on Jalan HR Bunyamin, Purwokerto.
Rifqi Festiawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Chair of the Pomprov 2025 Organizing Committee, explained that the athletics event, which ran for two days, was participated in by 123 athletes, while the taekwondo involved 60 athletes.
“In total, 60 athletes are competing in Taekwondo and 123 athletes in athletics,” clarified Rifqi Festiawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., AIFO.
He explained that the athletics event was held over two days (June 23-24, 2025), while the taekwondo event (June 23, 2025) was held for only one day.
When asked about the number of athletes from Unsoed Purwokerto participating in the 2025 Central Java Provincial Sports Week, Rifqi mentioned that 165 athletes are competing in 15 sports. Meanwhile, 77 universities in Central Java are participating in the Central Java Provincial Sports Week.
“Unsoed itself has sent 165 athletes to this year’s Provincial Sports Week, and thank God, they have already started competing, and some have achieved quite good and maximum results in this event,” he said.
Meanwhile, the tennis competition is scheduled for June 24-25, 2025, at the Satria Purwokerto Sports Hall tennis court.
“Fifteen teams are competing in tennis from different universities,” he added.
The swimming event will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Unsoed Purwokerto Sports Hall.
“Next are Tarung Derajat and Sepak Takraw, each from June 27 to June 30, 2025,” Rifqi continued.
The registration process for athletes competing in Tarung Derajat is still ongoing.
“And for sepak takraw, seven universities are competing,” said Rifqi.
Rifqi Festiawan also announced that the official opening of the 2025 Central Java Provincial Sports Week will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Graha Prof Rubijanto Misman Unsoed Purwokerto.
“The opening ceremony will be held tomorrow evening, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Graha Prof Rubijanto Misman,” he added.
