FIB UNSOED Successfully Held ABTR Conference 2022

[, Tue, 04/10/22] The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) successfully held the Academia-Based Tourism Revival (ABTR) International Conference, which lasted for three days (27-29 September 2022) . ABTR was held online using Zoom Meeting and was attended by more than 300 local, national, and international participants.

This conference was motivated by reasons to improve the world of tourism which had fallen due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This international conference is also a cooperative conference held by more than one agency: Faculty of Humanities of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed), the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Universitas Mahasaraswat, Mei Fah Luang University, Thailand, and Nippon Academy, Japan.

In addition, this conference also invited several keynote speakers: Lyndell Dean Backues, Ph.D. (Eastern University, USA), Prof. Hirose, Eishi (Shizuoka University of Art and Culture, Japan), Sulaiman Shehdek (Visit Indonesia Tourism Office, Singapore), Dr. Pancahrle Thongpanich (School of Liberal Arts, Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand), I Ketut Arka, S.S., M.A.P. (Indonesia Guide Association of Bali Province, Indonesia), Prof. Chen Shuangxin (Hebei University, China), Dr. Lynda Susana Widya Ayu Fatmawaty S.S., M. Hum. (Universitas Jenderal Soedirman), and Dian Ediono (Garuda Indonesia).

The conference was opened by the Rector of Unsoed, Akhmad Sodiq, M.Sc.Agr. Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Muhammad Neil El Himam, who is the Deputy for the Digital Economy and Creative Products, also gave an opening speech at this event. At the end of the event, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno also gave a speech for ABTR via video. Muhamad Ahsanu, Ph.D, chairman of the 2022 ABTR committee, hopes that this conference can have a positive impact on the world of tourism in Indonesia and can continue into the following years.
