[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 01/04/24] The Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) and the Postgraduate Director signed a Cooperation Agreement with Pukyong National University and Donguk University, Korea. The Cooperation Agreement signing is a continuation of the Scheme for Academic Mobility and Exchange (SAME) activities carried out by one of the FPIK’s lecturers who is also the coordinator of the Master of Agricultural Biotechnology study program, Prof. Maria Dyah Nur Meinita.
Through the SAME program, Prof. Maria got the opportunity to become a visiting Professor at the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology chaired by Prof. Il Soo Moon from 9 September until 30 November 2023.
As a result of these activities, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between thee Dean of the College of Medicine Science, Dongguk University, Prof. Kwan Lee and the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) Dr. Endang Hilmi.
In addition to FPIK, an agreement was also signed with Postgraduate Unsoed, namely between the Director of Postgraduate Unsoed, Prof. Imam Widhiono with the Dean of the College of Medicine Science, Dongguk University, Prof. Kwan Lee.
Prof. Maria said in the MoA that there were several collaboration agreements between the two institutions, including collaboration in the academic field and scientific activities such as Visiting lecturer, Lecturer exchange and mobility, and potential cooperation in the field of research.
Dongguk University is one of the best private universities in Korea. The university was ranked 11th in the Korean University rankings in 2014. While at the Asian level, Dongguk University was ranked 77th in 2015, 82nd in 2018, and 96th in 2021 based on Asia QS World University Rankings.
This university was founded in 1906 in Seoul, South Korea. This university also operates campuses in Peckam, Gyeongju, and Los Angeles, United States. The university operates two affiliated hospitals of Western medicine, and four hospitals of Oriental medicine, an umbrella term that includes the study of traditional Korean medicine.
This MoA is a continuation and implementation of the MoU between Dongguk University and Unsoed which was signed in 2020.
Besides Dongguk University, FPIK and Postgraduate Unsoed also signed an agreement with the College of Fisheries Sciences, Pukyong National University (PKNU). This MoA is a continuation and implementation of the MoU between Dongguk University and Unsoed which was signed in 2017.
Dean of FPIK Unsoed, Dr. Endang Hilmi signed an agreement with the Dean of the College of Fisheries Science, Prof. Park Won Gyu. Cooperation with PKNU was also carried out by Postgraduate Unsoed. Postgraduate Director, Prof. Imam Widhiono signed an agreement with the Dean of the College of Fisheries Science, Prof. Park Won Gyu and Head of Biotechnology Department, Prof. Jeong Gwi-Taek.
Cooperation with Postgraduate Unsoed is focused on the field of Agricultural Biotechnology. PKNU is a national university in Busan, South Korea, which was formed in 1996 which is a union of two universities Pusan National University of Fisheries and Pusan National University of Technology which have been established since 1926 and 1946 in Busan.
Prof. Maria also added the Cooperation Agreement with the College of Fisheries Science, as an implementation of the MoU between Jenderal Soedirman University and Pukyong National University. Unsoed together with 17 State Universities Federal in Indonesia and Pukyong National University are also members of the Public University Academic Network (PUAN) which collaborates in terms of academic exchange and other academic activities.
While the Cooperation Agreement with the College of Fisheries Science, as an implementation of the MoU between Unsoed and Pukyong National University. Unsoed together with 17 State Universities Federal in Indonesia and Pukyong National University are also members of the Public University Academic Network (PUAN) which collaborates in terms of academic exchange and other academic activities.
“It is hoped that this collaboration with Dongguk University and Pukyong National University will develop in various fields to realize Unsoed’s vision to be more advanced and global,” she concluded.
