[unsoed.ac.id, Fri, 18/07/25] Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) has achieved remarkable results at both the regional and global levels, as indicated by its performance in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 and the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2025.
In the official rankings released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Unsoed achieved an impressive milestone by ranking between 801 and 850 in Asia and securing 42nd place out of 73 Indonesian universities included in the rankings. Additionally, in the global ranking by Webometrics for 2025, Unsoed demonstrated significant progress, improving its position from 1,999 in 2024 to 1,905 in 2025. This increase highlights the institution’s enhanced performance, particularly regarding academic excellence and digital visibility.
The Rector of Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Sodiq, M.Sc.Agr, expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “Alhamdulillah, this success is the result of the synergy and hard work of all members of the academic community. It demonstrates that Unsoed continues to enhance its quality and reputation both in Asia and globally. We remain committed to fostering academic excellence, digitalization, and international networking,” he stated.
Prof. Dr. Sos. Waluyo Handoko, S.IP., M.Sc., the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations (Vice Rector IV), stated that Unsoed’s achievements in these two prestigious rankings demonstrate the university’s consistent and goal-oriented policies.
“The rise in rankings in QS Asia and Webometrics demonstrates Unsoed’s commitment to establishing effective planning and collaboration systems. The university is focused on enhancing its competitiveness not just within the academic sphere, but also by elevating its reputation and building trust with both national and international partners,” he explained.
“We continue to promote collaboration across various sectors, enhance the university’s global branding, and utilize information technology in an integrated manner. These efforts are all part of our long-term goal to make Unsoed a university that is adaptive, collaborative, and competitive on the global stage,” he added.
Dr. Yanuar E. Restianto, M.Acc, Ak, CA, CPA, the Head of the Unsoed Ranking Team, explained that these achievements stem from a process of continuous improvement and strategies based on data-driven strengthening.
“The improvement in Unsoed’s ranking in both QS Asia and Webometrics clearly indicates that collaboration across different units and enhanced governance have yielded positive results. For Webometrics, we consistently promote the optimization of open access scientific content, as well as an increase in both the quantity and quality of lecturer publications through repositories. Additionally, we focus on improving the visibility of websites and subdomains associated with various work units,” he explained.
“We are actively promoting the integration of information systems, evidence-based data reporting, and the updating of institutional content in English to demonstrate our commitment to aligning with global standards. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen these strategic steps to further solidify Unsoed’s position on the international stage,” he added.
With this achievement, Unsoed strengthens its identity as a university that is rooted in local values while remaining adaptive and competitive in addressing global challenges.
