UNSOED Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Bank Syariah Indonesia

[, Sat, 15/01/22] Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED) signs a Memorandum of Understanding / MoU with PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) on Thursday (13/1). The signing took place at Hotel Amaranta Prambanan Yogyakarta. The MoU was signed by the Chancellor of UNSOED Prof. Dr. Ir. Suwarto MS, and the Director of Sales and Distribution of PT. BSI Mr. Anton Sukarna. The Vice Chancellors, & Heads of Bureaus within UNSOED, leaders, and ranks of PT.BSI were also present.

The Memorandum of Understanding between Universitas Jenderal Sudirman and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk was done regarding the Implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the Utilization of Islamic Banking Services and Products. The scope includes: Implementation of Education, Research, and Community Service; Utilization of Islamic Banking Products and Services; Independent Learning Campus Independent Program; and other agreed fields.

UNSOED Chancellor,  Prof.Dr.Ir Suwarto MS, in his speech said that inter-institutional cooperation is an aspect that has strategic value and its own importance, especially in improving the quality of its services to the community and all relevant stakeholders. "Therefore, on this auspicious and blessed opportunity, we really welcome the collaboration between Unsoed and Bank Syariah Indonesia. We believe that the spirit of this partnership will have a positive impact that benefits the development of both Unsoed and BSI," said the Chancellor.

Furthermore, the Chancellor said that the synergy between Unsoed and BSI must be built on the basis and belief that all of these are for the good that give blessings to both institutions and the audiences they serve. What does it mean? Through this partnership, as God permits, will be an encouragement and new energy for Unsoed and BSI to keep providing the best which lead to the recognition and trust of Unsoed and BSI in carrying out the given mandate. "We hope that this collaboration can be realized soon in technical matters, so that Unsoed and BSI will immediately feel the benefits," hoped the Chancellor.

Meanwhile, Mr. Anton Sukarna, as Director of Sales and Distribution of PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk expressed its gratitude to Universitas Jenderal Sudirman (UNSOED) for the trust given to Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to be a partner for the utilization of Islamic banking products and services. Through synergy with Universitas Jenderal Sudirman (UNSOED), we hope to provide the best banking services according to sharia principles equipped with qualified digitalization for the entire academic community of Universitas Jenderal Sudirman (UNSOED). "In the future, BSI is ready to develop collaboration and synergy with Universitas Jenderal Sudirman (UNSOED), including the use of BSI products and services as well as social activities to provide wider benefits for the community," said Director of Sales and Distribution of PT. BSI.

Furthermore, he conveyed about Bank Syariah Indonesia, which is the result of the merger of three state-owned Islamic banks, namely PT Bank Syariah Mandiri, PT Bank BNI Syariah, and PT Bank BRI Syariah Tbk. which began operating on February 1, 2021. "This merger unites the strengths of the three Islamic banks and aims to optimize Indonesia's huge Islamic financial and economic potential," he explained. Ending his speech, he hoped that this collaboration could produce a positive impact for all parties and could develop the sharia economy in Indonesia.
