UNSOED's 146th Graduation: Start Winning the Future

Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) again released its alumni to work in various fields, at the 17th Doctoral Graduation Senate Open Session, 78th Postgraduate, 61st Profession, 146th Bachelor Degree, and 125th Diploma Three (September 2022 period). The graduation took place offline at the Graha Widyatama Building Prof.Rubijanto Misman Unsoed.

Unsoed graduated 2,035 of his best sons and daughters, consisting of 10 doctors, 121 masters, 146 people with professional titles, 1462 undergraduates and 296 middle experts. Of the number of graduates, 1,012 of them graduated with honors or cum laude.

The graduation was held for two days (12-13 September 2022). The first day was for the Postgraduate Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Economics & Business, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, and Faculty of Law. The second day was for the Faculty of Social & Political Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences, and Faculty of Fisheries & Marine Sciences.

Unsoed Rector, Prof.Dr.Ir Akhmad Sodiq M.Sc. Agr. in his speech said that the future belongs to those who prepare it early on. It takes accuracy in counting steps, so that from the start we can project and anticipate. “There is no other choice but to self-transform. The spirit that is built is to win the future starting from now,” said the Rector.

On that occasion, the Rector left a message to the graduates as a provision in stepping into a new life in society; become an independent human being, become an advanced person, and become a global human being. “Freedom, progress, and globalism are essentially our capital to win the future. This of course will be realized if we realize the ideological values ​​of the struggle of the Great Commander General Soedirman; honesty, concern, and the spirit of never giving up as the basis,” explained the Rector.

Ending his remarks, the Rector congratulated the graduates who were inaugurated at the day, congratulated the parents and families of the graduates, who had joined in their prayers and other supports. "We also convey our respect and gratitude to the lecturers, education staff, and all parties who have participated in bringing the graduates to finally arrive on this happy day," said the Rector.

The General Chair of the Unsoed Alumni Family, Mr. Astera Primanto Bhakti, in his virtual speech congratulated Unsoed for consistently educating students so that we can create generations of extraordinary Indonesian nation builders. "The challenge of higher education is how universities can contribute through both their own universities and alumni in building the Indonesian nation," he said. He also congratulated the graduates who entered a new level, where all the attributes of being a student ended at graduation. “This is not the end of the journey, this is actually a beginning that should be planned and prepared well.”

Dwi Lagan Safrudin SIP, representative of graduates from the Master of Management Study Program, in his speech said that graduation is a momentum for change, from a student to a scholar. This momentum of change is interpreted as a momentum of changing responsibilities, from the responsibility of a student to the responsibility of a scholar. A scholar not only has responsibility for his own life, but a scholar also has a social responsibility towards the environment and other people.

“Being a student at Universitas Jenderal Sudirman is a matter of pride for us to achieve success, and become a scholar. It is a place for us to learn to discuss, build morals and interact, serve the community, and conduct scientific research to realize a dream and aspiration to uphold the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This campus provides beautiful moments. We got an amazing experience, we learned about the meaning of a struggle, never giving up, working hard, making sacrifices, and the consequences of achievement,” he said.

To date, there have been 109,896 alumni who have participated and contributed to various fields of life in society.
