[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 27/7/26] Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) has commenced the construction of two strategic facilities through the signing of work contracts and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Faculty of Law (FH) Student Center and the renovation of the Public Health Building at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes), held on Friday (July 24, 2026). This initiative is part of Unsoed’s efforts to provide more representative learning spaces and academic services for its academic community.
The contract signing was carried out between Unsoed, the construction service provider, and the supervising consultant, marking the official start of both development projects. The event also served as a momentum to strengthen collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure that the construction process proceeds as planned, is completed on time, and meets the established quality standards.
The Rector of Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Sodiq, M.Sc. Agr., IPU., ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of collaboration among building users, contractors, supervising consultants, and planners throughout the construction process. “With a substantial budget and agreed-upon standards, we expect this development to be completed on schedule and in accordance with the users’ expectations,” he stated.
According to him, the construction of the Faculty of Law Student Center and the renovation of the Public Health Building at the Faculty of Health Sciences reflect Unsoed’s commitment to continuously providing high-quality facilities.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Riris Ardhanariswari, S.H., M.H., noted that the Student Center development is part of the faculty’s effort to provide a more representative space for students to engage in both academic and extracurricular activities. “This is a small step that will lead to a bigger impact. This building will be highly beneficial for students,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr.sc.hum. Budi Aji, S.K.M., M.Sc., explained that the renovation of the Public Health Building is a response to the increasing number of students and lecturers, which has made the current building capacity insufficient. “With the growing number of students and lecturers, the existing capacity of the Public Health Building is no longer adequate. Therefore, renovation is necessary to improve learning facilities and infrastructure,” he explained.
The construction of the Faculty of Law Student Center is also part of the development of an integrated campus area. The presence of this new facility is expected to strengthen connectivity between buildings, enhance campus comfort, and support a wide range of academic and student activities.
Through the initiation of these two strategic projects, Unsoed continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a modern, safe, and representative learning environment. The construction of the Faculty of Law Student Center and the renovation of the Public Health Building at FIKes are targeted for completion on schedule so they can soon be utilized to support the improvement of educational services and the implementation of the university’s tridharma.
